Jeremiah Wilks ’25

The Next Step: Jeremiah Wilks ’25

Jeremiah Wilks ’25 never intended on commissioning when he started college, originally planning to pursue law school after graduation. His time at VMI swayed his decision, though. After seeing a path that would advance his growth as a leader, and the stability and benefits of service, including the chance to fund law school later on, Wilks chose to commission into the U.S. Army.

An international studies major from Richmond, Va., Wilks branched Signal Corps detail infantry. He credits his dyke, 1st Lt. Johnnie Walker III ’22, as his inspiration for this career path.

“VMI gave me a foundation of discipline and many opportunities to lead others,” he said. “I believe VMI on your resume is unmatched.”

Read more about how VMI prepared Wilks for this next step in a recent article and explore additional featured stories about the impressive young men and women who make up the Corps of Cadets.
